Speculative System Architect
& Integrated Product Designer
"I define my practice as bridging the dialectic between hardware physicality and algorithmic logic. I employ 'Sensory Translation' to interrogate invisible contexts—from physiological signals to historical echoes—and restructure them into embodied ecosystems."
Lingxi Zhang is a designer and researcher who builds systems that bridge the digital and physical divide. Moving beyond the flat confines of traditional commercial UX, her practice focuses on "Embodied Criticality."
She specializes in fusing Industrial Design (ID) with Interaction Design (IxD), creating work that demands physical engagement. Her methodology is grounded in "Forensic Poetics"—a rigorous process of auditing reality using diagnostic imaging (Lidar, X-Ray) and deep data analysis to reveal the hidden structures of our world.
Her recent body of work explores the "Identity of the Invisible." This spans from Resense , a haptic organ for the visually impaired that translates spatial data into skin sensation, to Anchor of Resonances, an XR archaeology project that excavates the deep-time geological costs of modern technology.
By combining physical computing (Arduino, Sensors) with digital synthesis (Unity, C#, Figma), Lingxi constructs "Speculative Systems"—interventions that are technically feasible yet philosophically provocative.
